Ive got my cain installed system on a hub with a voip setup and when I arp poison it to record the calls the recording works fine, I get both sides of the conversation, however whichever phone made the call isnt transmitting sound to the other side. Basically I call from one phone, I can hear everything from the other phone normally but the one that dialed out isnt getting through (but is being recorded by cain correctly) Any idea how to fix this?

Are you able to record without APR? should be if you're on a hub.

When just recording without APR there are no problems, its records both sides of the conversation without interfering with it, but when using APR the problem described before occurs.

This info may help a little, I changed the setup to using a switch instead of a hub (what I need to work in the end anyway)
The receiving side was still able to transmit to the dialing phone like before while the dialing phone couldnt be heard from the receiving end. However, only the dialed side was recorded by the tool in this instance.

The hub solved the problem, the switch killed it, your receiving half the conversation stream because the packets are no longer routed to you and you'd need to use APR. Make sure your firewalls are disabled to not block the connection.

I'm not sure why a firewall would block only half the packets but either way its been turned off since the begining (theres also no virus protection or anything on the machine I'm using)

so something else to throw out there that I discovered from a little more playing around, I downloaded and installed ettercap to do the arp poisoning and use Cain & Abel just to record the conversation (as if it were on a hub) and everything worked fine.

That's funny because Ettercap doesn't have the capability for arp poisoning in Windows.

there is a modded version that does in fact, work in windows, honestly I dont remember where I found it but it was a simple google search

modded? sounds like a malware trick to get you to download something you think is ettercap with apr in windows but in reality is the newest rogue antivirus 2009 installer.
